Since
it is our last name, we're
often asked "Where's
Waldo?" Most of the time
we're in Sierra Vista, AZ where
we have our home and operate
our business activities from.
But we do wander away from here
from time to time. as you will
learn shortly, so read on. The
purpose of this page is to
simply give you the chance to
get to know us a bit-we're real
people running real businesses
and the last name really is
Waldo!
My
name is Bart Waldo. A native of
Michigan, I graduated from
Western Michigan University in
1970. I then embarked on what
became a career in the US Army.
My soldier days took us to
Korea, Ft Campbell, KY, the
University of Wisconsin-Stevens
Point, Ft Bragg, NC, Ft
Huachuca, AZ, Saudi Arabia and
Kuwait. I received my Masters
in Business Administration from
the University of
Wisconsin-Oshkosh. I divided my
time in the service between
tours as a tactical
intelligence officer in
airborne and air assault units,
as a trainer and teacher and as
a comptroller or resource
manager. I retired from the
Army in 1993, having attained
the grade of Lieutenant
Colonel.
I
founded Vista Communications in
1993. In 1995, I was approached
by a group of friends and
business associates to
participate in establishing an
Internet Service Provider firm
in Sierra Vista. That company,
Cochise County Internet, Inc.,
or c2i2.com
has grown over the past 6 years
to include nationwide
operations serving
several thousand customers. I
serve on the c2i2.com board of
directors and divide my time
between the two companies.
Because both are Internet
based, I can do either wherever
I am.
I
married my lovely wife, Linda
during our senior year in
college and later this year we
celebrate our 36th wedding
anniversary. Linda teaches
fourth grade in a local
elementary school. Our son
Ryan, 28 is a certified flight
instructor
When
we are not working, or going to
school and we do wander off, we
are occasionally found on a
local golf course. Ryan is a
single digit handicapper and
Linda and I are basically hacks
but we do enjoy the game. When
we wander further away, we are
most often in San
Carlos, Mexico.
We keep our boat there and use
it for scuba diving and deep
sea fishing.
